Learning a new language is recognized to be enjoyable, cost-free, and simple with Duolingo. Duolingo is used by many people who want to learn a new language.

Despite the significance of the Armenian language and its lengthy history, only about 7 million people worldwide speak it, mostly in Armenia but also in Georgia, Russia, the US, and many other nations. And Duolingo doesn't have Armenian in the list of upcoming courses.

Although, in the past, Duolingo has created courses on languages with a lot fewer speakers. Small minority languages like Navajo (171,000 speakers) and fictional tongues from Star Trek and Game of Thrones, High Valyrian, are examples of this.

The majority of Armenians, more than 60%, do not really live in Armenia and do not speak the language. There are many people with Armenian ancestry around the world who would love to learn the language and there are many more who are just curious about it because Armenian is one of the 10 oldest languages. Plus, there is a big wave of migration happening in Armenia right now, which increases the need for teaching Armenian.

When Will Armenian Be Available On Duolingo?
You may view the languages that Duolingo is actively developing courses for in the Duolingo Incubator feature. Good news – volunteers can also participate in the creation of the Duolingo courses.

Duolingo Incubator

If you speak more than one language well, you can contribute to a course on the Duolingo Incubator page.

This page simply lists the courses that are presently being created, allowing you to apply to help in course development if you so desire.

I can tell that they are not currently working on an Armenian course. This indicates that Duolingo Armenian won't be made available anytime soon.

How Do The Courses That Duolingo Creates Get Chosen?

Previously Duolingo chose new courses based on comments from the Duolingo forums. But it disabled that feature and now we cannot push them to create a course in Armenian.

We found a petition for adding Armenian to Duolingo and invite you to sign it.
